WORCESTER, Mass. — The Joseph Mewhiney Central Mass. All-Star High School football game is tonight at 7:30 at Doyle Field in Leominster. It’s the last chance for players who just graduated to take to the high school gridiron.
The format is the Midland/Wachusett League/District 3 all-stars on one side, with all-stars from other leagues/District 2 on the other side.
"It’s definitely different, "said Shrewsbury WR Felix Pittorino, who is playing for District 3. "Meeting everybody, it’s interesting. You have rivalries with some people; you play with them now. It’s fun. Not a lot of people ever get to experience that."
"It’s fun to meet up with guys I’ve been playing against," said West Boylston RB Connor Muldoon, who is playing for District 3. "You don’t get to talk to them much outside of football. I’ve been talking to the Clinton kids a lot; we play them all the time, but don’t get to talk to them."
