The first Paul Robeson All-Star Football Classic had a modest goal of providing an opportunity for Essex County’s top football players to gain additional notoriety in the way of an all-star game pitting the eastern half of the county against the west.
Now, as the Robeson Classic is set to kick off its 30th edition on Tuesday at 7 p.m. in Belleville, what’s now one of the state’s oldest all-star games has continued to grow in both size and scope.
